Dolores Treger, the retiring Executive Director of People to People and Orange Rockland Utilities will be honored at the First Annual People’s Party on Sunday March 30th at the Pearl River Hilton.
The night serves as a backdrop to thank Treger for her 17-year career as head of People to People, helping to bring the organization from a small, highly localized, grass roots effort to feed those in need to the leader in the county’s fight against hunger, feeding thousands of people each week. She will retire as Executive Director in April.
It will also honor O&R for its work on behalf of the organization, particularly in its efforts to build the Back to School with Dignity program, which provides starter packages to children for their first day of school to help them compete with others in their class.
The first annual event, which runs from 6-10 pm, will be “a party like no other.” It will be complete with games and roving performers, raffles, silent and live auction and other activities. Total Entertainment and Amazing Circus will provide the entertainment. The stocking of supermarket shelves and set up at the Hilton during the evening will highlight the night as all guests will be asked to bring food for the shelves. It will be delivered to People to People following the event for use in its food pantry. |
