Training designed to improve employee wellness programs
The Rockland County Department of Health’s Steps to a Healthier Rockland Initiative will be offering a free worksite wellness workshop on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon at the Palisades Center in the Besso Community Room, located on the 4th floor.
Workshop attendees will learn the basics of worksite wellness programming including benefits and cost-effectiveness, easy ways to implement programs, successful low-cost strategies, and available local resources.
Dr. Joan Facelle, Rockland County Commissioner of Health said, “Worksites are an ideal place to promote a healthy lifestyle, especially given the rising health care costs. This is a great training for worksites looking to initiate or enhance their employee wellness programs.”
Evidence shows that worksite wellness programs can reduce injuries, absenteeism, and health care costs, and increase productivity, morale, and loyalty.
Human resource professionals, managers, worksite wellness committee members, and any professional interested in worksite wellness and corporate health promotion are encouraged to attend. Training is limited to two individuals per organization. All participants will be entered in a free raffle drawing.
Breakfast will be served. Registration is required as space is limited. For more information or to register, contact Melanie Shefchik at (845) 364-3786 or email ShefchiM@co.rockland.ny.us. |
