In the mood for some summer fashion, fun and a chance to give back? Look no further than the Rockland Business Association’s Tea and Fashion Show presented by the Women’s Forum.
This sure-to-be fabulous event will feature a fashion show filled with career, casual and dressy apparel by sponsor, Dress Barn. Attendees will not only be able to see new styles, but also donate their own garments.
People to People of Rockland will accept donations of gently worn professional and business casual clothing, which they will distribute to both women and men.
“Dressing well is very empowering for those entering the work force,” said Diane Serratore, Executive Director for People to People. “First impressions are important.”
Donated clothing can be used or new, should be in good condition, dry-cleaned and brought in a bag. Donors will have the opportunity to fill out a note of encouragement at the event to send along with their clothing. Tax receipts will be provided.
In addition to fashion, the event offers a hair blow-drying boot camp by Changing Heads Salon, Jewelry by La Isla Design, make-up and skin imaging by L’Azur Escape Laser Centre & Spa and a Botox demonstration by Dr. Michael Fiorillo, a board certified plastic surgeon.
While sipping on tea and enjoying finger sandwiches and fruit, ladies can also participate in the fancy hat contest and vie for door prizes.
“This brings everyone together to network and pick up new tips,” said Ellen Bernstein, event co-chair and president of Accent on Promotions, Inc., in Pomona.
“It’s the perfect place to make some new friends and new colleagues,” added co-chair Fran Reinstein Vice President Community Relations for Key Bank.
